Password Viewer allows users to convert dots or asterisks used to "mask" passwords into plain text.
Though the concept is simple, the functionality of this application is unique. If users copy and paste a password from a web browser or program in the form of asterisks or dots into the program, the program will output the text behind the "mask".
This can come in handy, especially for users who forget their passwords for applications that show their "old password" in the form of dots or asterisks. Although Internet Explorer has implemented this functionality itself since the release of this application, it still allows for users to show passwords in Internet Explorer in plaintext by default or upon request, as well.
Password Viewer can save a huge amount of time for the average user and is an excellent lightweight utility to minimize effort necessary to retrieve many types of passwords.
